Origin Environment
The major production areas of Yanyuan apples are located in basins at an altitude of 2,300–2,600 meters, featuring a cool highland climate with abundant sunshine and semi-aridity. It has a three-dimensional climate characterized by distinct four seasons, small annual temperature differences, large diurnal temperature differences, a long frost-free period throughout the year, dry winters and springs, concentrated rainfall in summers and autumns, as well as synchronized rainfall and heat, and sufficient sunshine.
Site Conditions
Within the production area, the altitude ranges from 2,300 to 2,600 meters. The soil types include alluvial red soil, mountain red soil and purple soil, with soil textures of sandy loam and loam. The soil pH value is 6.4–7.2, and the organic matter content is ≥ 2.1%.
