Plateau Fresh Fruits
Liangshan Prefecture
The unique climatic conditions of Liangshan Prefecture provide distinct advantages for high-quality fruit cultivation, which are mainly reflected in solar-thermal resources, significant temperature differences between day and night, precipitation distribution, and climatic diversity. These factors lay a solid natural foundation for premium fruit growing, and when combined with modern agricultural technologies, they further enhance the industrial competitiveness.
Most areas in Liangshan enjoy an annual sunshine duration of over 2,000 hours; for instance, the Anning River Valley records an annual sunshine of up to 2,600 hours. This provides sufficient energy for fruit photosynthesis, effectively promoting the accumulation of sugars in the fruits.
In high-altitude regions, the temperature difference between day and night can exceed 12℃, which is a key factor contributing to the high sugar content and excellent taste of fruits. High temperatures during the day accelerate sugar synthesis, while low temperatures at night reduce nutrient consumption, resulting in fruits with thin peels, rich flavors, tender textures and a refreshing taste.
Liangshan features distinct seasonal precipitation patterns. Over 90% of the annual rainfall occurs from May to October, while the dry season from November to April of the following year is characterized by low precipitation and abundant sunshine. This pattern ensures adequate water supply during the fruit growth period and facilitates water control to improve fruit quality during the ripening stage.
The varied topography, ranging from river valleys to mountainous areas, allows for the simultaneous development of diverse agricultural sectors.
